Binding Services

Binding is the finishing touch that brings your quilt together! Whether you prefer to do some of the work yourself or want a completely finished quilt, I offerseveral binding options to suit your needs.

  • Use fabric that matches the weight & quality of your quilt top.

  • If supplying prepared binding, make sure it’s 18" longer than the total quilt perimeter for smooth mitred corners.

  • If you’re unsure which option is best for your quilt, I’m happy to help!

  • Need binding made but not attached?
I can also prepare the binding for you to sew on yourself—just ask!

You provide the
prepared binding, and I’ll machine-stitch it to the
front of your quilt.

From there, you finish the

hand-stitching on the back.

Make & Attach Binding

Fabric Supplied by You

You supply the fabric, and I’ll cut, join, and press the binding before machine-stitching it to the front of your quilt. You finish the hand-stitching on the back.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to Your Frequently Asked Questions

What is edge-to-edge (E2E) quilting?

E2E quilting is an all-over pattern applied to your quilt top for a professional and cohesive finish.

Do you offer binding services?

Yes! I offer both machine and hand-finished binding options to complete your quilt.

How do I send my quilt top to you?

Once you book the service, I’ll provide shipping details and instructions for preparing your quilt top.

How long does the quilting and binding process take?

Turnaround times vary, but I’ll give you an estimated completion time when you book.

Do you trim the quilt after quilting?

I return quilts untrimmed unless you request trimming as an add-on service.

How do I package my quilt for shipping?

Fold neatly and place it in a bag for protection before putting it in a mailing satchel.

Do you offer backing fabric, or do I need to send my own?

I recommend sending your own backing fabric, but I do have a small selection available for purchase. Contact me to check availability.

How should I prepare my quilt top before sending it?

Press your quilt top and backing well to remove wrinkles. Trim any loose threads to prevent them from showing through. Ensure the top is squared and lays flat.

Do I need to send batting?

You can send your own batting, or I can provide high-quality cotton or Wool batting for an additional cost.

How much larger should my backing be?

Your backing should be at least 4 inches larger on all sides (total of 8 inches wider and taller than your quilt top).

Should I baste or pin my quilt layers together?

No, please send your quilt top, backing, and batting as separate layers—do not baste or pin them together.

Can my backing be pieced?

Yes! If your backing is pieced, make sure seams are pressed flat and the edges are squared.

What quilting patterns do you offer?

I have a range of edge-to-edge (E2E) designs, from classic loops and swirls to modern geometric patterns. You can browse available designs when booking your quilting service.

Can I request a custom quilting design?

No, I only offer edge-to-edge (E2E) quilting and do not provide custom or custom-placement quilting designs.
